In this episode of the Blogging Diabetes Podcast I talk a bit about two very interesting documentaries that I’m going to check out. I also get into a bit of where I find my organic free range, no soy, no GMO eggs that are delicious. Hint: you can’t get them at Trader Joe’s.  The bulk of this podcast covers my review of the Dexcom G4 continuous glucose monitor after using it for a few weeks.

There are a bunch of items in the news or in podcasts that I listen to that I discuss in this episode. I can’t wait to talk about two books that I’m reading now on the topics of fat loss and emotional eating.  There are some promising technologies coming out in the near future that make me smile.

I hope you enjoy the episode and have a great weekend!

Tony,
Another good podcast. I am very happy that you are getting better BG numbers.

It is good to see you wake up to the low carb approach after following the drug industry approach for so long.

Here are 2 more books you will like by Jenny Ruhl, “Blood Sugar 101, What they don’t tell you about Diabetes” and “Diet 101 The truth about low carb Diets”

Jenny also has an active web site http://www.bloodsugar101.com many of her readers have reported getting their A1c values in the 5% range, “the 5% club”.

Ernie – Thank you for the message and feedback! I am a TRUE believer in low carb with diabetes.

Thanks for the book suggestions because I think you led me to the Fat book I just finished, so I appreciate it!

I’ll check out Jenny’s site. Thank you and have a great day!

Hello Tony,

Love your podcast, thank you for all the effort you put into it. I am sure it is beneficial to a lot of people besides just me.
I have wanted to mention a book I read this year that was interesting and may be worth checking out, it is called The Book of Better by Chuck Eichten. He is a designer at Nike here in Portland and a type 1 diabetic for 30+ years. I heard an interview of him discussing it last year, so might even toss him in for the list of people to consider to interview.
Thanks again for all the effort.

Hi Erik, thanks for the comment and feedback. It’s always good to hear I’m hitting home with some folks and motivates me to do more and better.

Back in episode 18 I talked a bit about Chuck’s book. I did read the book and enjoyed it except for one thing. To find out that one thing you’ll have to check out the episode :)

I should try to get him on the show. Thanks for the suggestion!
