Today, November 14, is World Diabetes Day.  Also, November is Diabetes awareness month.  I wish diabetes awareness were as popular as say, pink for breast cancer awareness, but you have to take what you can get.  Every day is diabetes day to me, my wife and my two daughters.  One mission for this very blog is to help spread awareness of diabetes and how much it is a silent killer.

Go blue for World Diabetes Day!  The theme for the next 5 years of the organization is: diabetes education and prevention.

"It was introduced in 1991 by the International Diabetes Federation (IDF) and the World Health Organization (WHO) in response to the alarming rise in diabetes around the world. In 2007, the United Nations marked the Day for the first time with the passage of the United Nations World Diabetes Day Resolution in December 2006, which made the existing World Diabetes Day an official United Nations World Health Day." Get involved, spread the word, walk for a cure, ride for a cure, and remember there are children as young as 12 months on insulin.  We need a cure. My daughters need a cure so dad can be around for a bit.
