I just found this site and bookmarked it. This is pretty cool.

I've lived with type 1 since nov of 1987, and done really well. I'm currently 55 yrs old, and am maintaining very well. May I suggest to everyone that a critical part of fighting off depression and loss of hope is a regular exercise program. I am obnoxious about mine....e.g., sometimes I'll make the family wait a extra hour on dinner if I'd due for a workout. More exercise means less insulin, which means better control because lower doses, and better control = better attitude.

At least that's my tip for the day, but everyone must find their own balance, know their body, and be a student of their own unique game no matter how tired you become of constantly having to monitor. It could be much worse, my friends.

Stay the course and see you all at 80!

Great and honest blog about something I know I, for one, try not to think about. Because dwelling on it too much can be so depressing. I just try to remember that this is the hand I was dealt, and I'll do all I can to do my best. I'm working for that 80 finish line - although I know I probably won't get there. But I've had diabetes for almost 30 years, and there was a time I never thought I'd get here - and certainly not healthy. That's what keeps me from getting too depressed about the future and what it may or may not hold.

Great post. As you said, I'm not diabetic so I can't understand the full magnitude of how diabetes mentally affects a person. I know that at times I get depressed thinking of the challenges that Tristan will face....and I'm sure that for the person living it, it's a 100% worst.

I think if nothing else, you vblog should encourage people to take care of themselves and try as much as possible to control their diabetes so that they can see their 80th birthday!

Keep up the wonderful posts, I love reading them and the information is really valuable to me! :)
