My scariest low was 26...I still remember it like it was yesterday but that was a bit over 9 years ago...I've had many in the 30-50 range...I start with the shakies in the 55-65 range

I too ATTACK food usually (sometimes juice)...it's just a scary feeling...I've tried glucose tablets but it's almost an excuse to not use them because it is one of the only times it seems okay to eat something you normally would not reach for. I know this thinking is bass ackwards but if I wake up at 1am with a low I'm going for a big bowl of rice krispies and milk...LOL...only to usually regret it the next morning

I tried the glucose tabs with Kacey and since they were 4g each I gave her 4 of them instead of 3. She went from a 65 to a 495 in 15 min! So the next time she went low we did 2 instead and it brought her up to a comfortable number :) I used the juice this past time...the little boxes with 15g each...those worked good but they made her feel sick at her stomach because she's not used to drinking juice anymore. She told me she didn't like the way they made her feel and she didn't want them anymore...LOL! I also found that those mini bags of skittles work good too. I gave her the whole pack and they brought her up good too and she felt like it was a "treat" for going low...haha!

I so totally feel you on this one man! We've talked before about how I too go NUTS when low, and even with bolusing for what I think I over treated with, often end up way worse off.

I love the pop tarts line (Diabetic Kryptonite)! So true!
